The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to showcase the effectiveness of innovative tactics and technology. One striking example comes from Ajax, an FPV drone pilot from the A Special Operations Center. His recent operations underscore the transformative role of small, cost-efficient drones in neutralizing high-value enemy targets.
In a remarkable mission, Ajax used a single FPV drone, costing only a few hundred dollars, to destroy the Osa air defense system valued at $10 million. Originally tasked with targeting different objectives, his team spotted the Osa system in transit.

“We struck it. After confirmation, we checked and saw that everything was ablaze,” he recounted, highlighting the tactical adaptability and immense cost-efficiency of drone warfare.
Another mission showcased the drone’s destructive precision against the Msta-S long-range self-propelled artillery system. Despite challenges posed by poor radio horizon conditions, subsequent drone footage revealed the system had been obliterated, leaving no doubt about the strike’s success.
The Ajax also shared an account of neutralizing russian tank poised to attack Ukrainian defenders. Drawing on his own experiences under tank fire, he coordinated with aerial spotters, launching drones to disable the tank’s engine. Multiple follow-up strikes ensured its complete destruction, preventing it from endangering Ukrainian forces.
