Satellite Images Reveal Oil Depot Burning for Fourth Day in Rostov Oblast

New satellite images have revealed the ongoing fire at the Rosrezerv oil depot in Rostov Oblast, burning for its fourth day

Radio Liberty journalists have released satellite images showing the ongoing fire at the Rosrezerv oil depot in Rostov Oblast, russia, which has been burning or its fourth day.

The OSINT analyst MT_Anderson estimates that the fire has completely destroyed 14 fuel tanks, partially damaged 4 more, and left 16 tanks untouched. The condition of the remaining 44 tanks remains unclear due to thick smoke obscuring them.

Earlier, Defense Express reported that, on the night of August 18, Ukrainian drones attacked an oil depot in Proletarsk, Rostov Oblast. The depot, used to support russian forces, caught fire after debris from the drones ignited the diesel fuel. Later, the second wave of drones attack was carried out on the oil depot.

The strike caused a large fire, engulfing diesel tanks at the site. Additional explosions and fires were reported amid high temperatures and dry conditions.
