Ukrainian defense forces control the situation in the town of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region and its outskirts. As of May 15th, there is no enemy presence in the town

This was stated by the spokesperson of the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops (OSGT), Nazar Voloshyn, informs Interfax-Ukraine.

"There are no russian troops in Chasiv Yar; the Defense Forces maintain control over the city and its environs. However, the aggressors persist in their attempts to seize the strategic heights around Chasiv Yar, aiming for further advancement towards Druzhkivka, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk," Voloshyn stated.

According to him, the russian army has intensified artillery fire and drone strikes in the outskirts of Chasiv Yar.

Voloshyn clarified that in the previous day alone, there were 92 mortar and artillery attacks recorded, along with nine hostile assaults by the enemy in the morning.

The spokesperson also highlighted the enemy's concentrated efforts to breach the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine west of Bakhmut, aiming to reach the canal's edge, seize control of Chasiv Yar, and establish conditions for advancing on the Kramatorsk agglomeration.

"However, the occupiers have not even managed to cross the Siversky Donets-Donbas channel," Voloshyn noted.
