It is worth noting that although automated fire suppression systems and crew efforts were expected to contain the fire, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reported that the ship has been disabled for an extended period, indicating that something went amiss.

Moreover, it is one thing if it happened somewhere in occupied Crimea or in Novorossiysk, but in this case, the events occurred in the Baltic Fleet.

Serpukhov, a small missile ship of Project 21631 Buyan-M, was formerly part of the Black Sea Fleet until the end of 2016.

Since 2017, it has been integrated into the Baltic Fleet, where it is one of the 11 ships equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles.

Because of the fire, the small missile ship of Project 21631 Buyan-M was disabled for an extended period.
