On November 11, Chinese Desertcross 1000-3 all-terrain vehicles from Shandong Odes Industry were demonstrated to vladimir putin during his visit to the headquarters of the Southern Military District in Rostov-on-Don.

The vehicle, which has a curb weight of 1050 kg, can carry a load of 550 kg on its pickup bed and can additionally tow a trailer weighing 300 kg. russia is paying 1.58 mln rubles ($17,200) per unit for the basic configuration and 2.1 mln rubles ($22,800) per unit for UTVs with optional add-ons.
The Desertcross 1000-3 all-terrain vehicle is designed for patrol and reconnaissance operations, raid and search and rescue operations, as well as transportation of material in difficult road and soil conditions.
However, without a cabin protecting against weather conditions, an open vehicle is not suitable for winter operation.
