Despite russian claims of poor construction, Ukraine’s evolving Magura drones continue to challenge the Black Sea Fleet

A representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine reported that the russians managed to capture one of the Magura sea drones used by Ukrainian intelligence to target the russian Black Sea Fleet, despite the drones being equipped with self-destruct mechanisms.

“They conducted a detailed inspection, disassembled it down to the last screw, and claimed that it was poorly made. However, this supposedly poorly made device was still capable of significantly crippling their powerful and perfect Black Sea Fleet,” he remarked.

The Magura V5 sea drones are kamikaze drones, so there is a risk that some of their remnants might fall into enemy hands. Nevertheless, this does not provide the enemy with a significant technical advantage in countering these devices.

“The drones are constantly being improved, with regular software updates, enhancements to navigation and control algorithms, and the development of new combat usage methods,” the Defense Intelligence officer explained.

He added that the captured drone, taken over six months ago, is already significantly different from current models.

“The drones are continuously updated, with technical solutions regularly evolving,” he stated.
