This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"There have been 1,068 documented instances of deploying tear gas munitions containing toxic chemicals prohibited for warfare (hostilities) under Article 1, paragraph 5, of the Chemical Weapons Convention," the statement reported.

In February 2024, russian forces employed high-explosive gas shots in 244 instances. Additionally, one case of gas use and five instances of using other munitions containing chemical substances were recorded.
The new model of gas grenade is named the RG-VO. The grenade contains chloroacetophenone, an asphyxiate gas that is prohibited by the Geneva Protocol for the Prohibition of the Use of Asphyxiating, Poisonous, or Other Gases, and of Bacteriological Methods of Warfare.
The Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense Troops are collecting samples of soil, vegetation, and munition fragments, sending them for analysis.
"Within the framework of the criminal proceedings, documented cases of the use of hazardous chemicals are submitted to the investigative authorities for investigation," emphasized the General Staff.
