Poland has finally agreed on organizing production of CGR-080 rockets for South Korean K239 Chunmoo MLRS, which have the local designation HOMAR-K and are analogous to American HIMARS. Over 10,000 such munitions are expected to be manufactured.
As Defense24 reports, the corresponding contract was signed between the Armament Agency and a consortium of Hanwha WB Advanced System and Hanwha Aerospace. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2030 and continue until 2033.

For localization, a joint Polish-South Korean plant will be built by WB Electronics and Hanwha Aerospace. Various munition types are expected to be mastered in the future, such as 122mm.
Initially, this concerns 239mm CGR-080, which is standard for K239 and can have high-explosive fragmentation or cluster warheads. Up to six such rockets fit in one launch container, with maximum firing range stated as 80km.

Defense Express can add that this is a serious achievement beginning the process of supplying Polish rocket artillery with domestically-produced munitions, which was previously questioned. This will both increase their output and expand domestic defense industry capabilities.
However, this is a rather slow process, as we see delivery start is planned only for 2030 4-5 years away. This time is needed for deploying industrial capacity and establishing supply chains, though its unknown how deep localization will be and how much dependence on South Korea will remain.
Once production is established, over 10,000 rockets are planned for production by 2033 within 3 years. Roughly calculated, this yields over 3,300 munitions annually.
For comparison, from 2029 Australia plans to produce 4,000 GMLRS for M142 HIMARS and M270, while the U.S. has already reached the 14,000 rockets per year mark. However, Poland is only now beginning deployment of corresponding capacity, so direct comparison is currently inappropriate.
