In Buryatia, convicted women are weaving camouflage nets for inmates who have been sent to fight in Ukraine. In addition to nets, they are also making “invisible ponchos”. This work has become mandatory for prisoners who did not sign a contract with the russian Ministry of Defense and refused to fight in Ukraine, National Resistance Center of Ukraine reports.

According to the sources, active recruitment of female prisoners for participation in the war against Ukraine is underway in russia. Initially, they are offered non-combat roles such as cooks or medics. However, these female convicts often end up in combat positions, including roles as snipers and in assault units.
