Ukraine's Ministry of Defense Approves Over 600 New Domestically Made Weapon Systems This Year

Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has approved over 600 new domestically produced weapon systems for operation

Since the start of 2024, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and brought into operation over 900 models of weapons and military equipment, including more than 600 of domestic production, according to the Ministry of Defense.

This statement was made by the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.

It was noted that during 2023, 405 models of weapons and military equipment were codified, with 244 being of domestic origin.

The Ministry of Defense also highlighted that among the newly codified and approved equipment, the majority consisted of vehicles, unmanned aerial systems, ammunition, electronic warfare systems, communications equipment, engineering systems, and ground-based robotic platforms.

"In 2024, domestic arms manufacturers not only ramped up production across a wide range of weapons and military equipment but also developed numerous new models. This includes the production of high-tech weaponry, which is playing an increasingly critical role on the battlefield. We are currently working on several key projects that will further enhance our firepower. However, I cannot disclose details at this time, as discretion is required on these matters," Lieutenant General Havryliuk said.
