Ukraine is working on advanced missile systems, with several developments already underway but kept classified due to security concerns

Ukraine is actively working on the development of new missile weapons, leveraging the country's existing military-technical capabilities to expand its domestic defense technologies. The effort was confirmed by a senior Ukrainian military official during a briefing held in Kyiv.

According to Vitalii Dobrianskyi, head of the Central Directorate for Innovative Activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the country already has a number of ongoing developments in the missile sector. However, he noted that details about these projects cannot currently be disclosed due to security restrictions.

Speaking at a briefing hosted by Ukrinform, the colonel emphasized that the work is being carried out within the framework of broader defense innovation efforts. Much of the available information remains classified, reflecting the sensitive nature of missile development programs during wartime.

Vitalii Dobrianskyi stated that Ukraineєs military-industrial and scientific potential has been fully mobilized for design and development work related to modern missile systems. These efforts involve engineering teams focused on creating new capabilities that could eventually strengthen the country's strike and deterrence potential.

While declining to provide specific timelines, he indicated that the projects have already reached certain stages of technical maturity. According to the official, some of the developments are progressing toward potential operational application, although their current status remains confidential.

The official also addressed the possibility of replacing certain foreign or legacy systems with domestically developed alternatives. He confirmed that work in this direction is already underway, suggesting that Ukraine aims to gradually expand its self-reliance in key categories of advanced weapons.
