According to the russian outlet Astra, the fire broke out at the Rosneft-KubanNefteProdukt oil depot located on Aviatsionnaya Street in Sochi’s Adler District, near the city’s international airport.
The russian propagandist outlet Mash reported that the drone attack began around 2:15 a.m. local time and was followed by approximately 30 explosions.

"A fuel storage tank caught fire at the oil depot in Adler District. No casualties have been reported. Emergency services are working at the scene," Mash stated.
At the same time, footage emerged online capturing the scale of the blaze at the Sochi oil facility after it was struck by an attack drone.
Sochi Mayor Andrei Proshunin confirmed after 4 a.m. that a fuel tank at the oil facility had ignited. He added that debris again struck structures at a nearby garage cooperative on Aviatsionnaya Street. "No casualties have been preliminarily reported," he wrote.
Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev later confirmed the same information, stating, "In Adler District, debris from a drone hit a fuel tank, causing a fire. Firefighting operations are underway."
He added that 127 personnel and 35 units of equipment were involved in the emergency response.
The Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters later clarified that the fire, which covered nearly 2,000 square meters, was battled for several hours.

As of the evening of August 3, Sochi Airport was receiving no more than five aircraft per hour. There has been no official word on when full operations and fuel supply will be restored.
