One million euros worth of Polish loitering munitions will strengthen Ukrainian capability to launch precision strikes

Lithuanian Minister of Defense Arvydas Anušauskas has announced a deal with the Polish "WB Group" company on the procurement of loitering munitions ("kamikaze drones") worth EUR 1 million which will be gifted to Ukraine.

Considering the previous such supplies and the cost revealed, most likely those are the Warmate munitions, already widely used by Ukrainian troops against russians in the frontline. In that case, a batch of around 20 sets of equipment with ammunition is expected, or around drones.

Arvydas Anušauskas also reminded that another package of non-lethal support is coming later – winter clothing for 25,000 soldiers and 10,000 sets of winter uniforms are expected to be purchased for Ukrainian soldiers in January.

As a reminder, on September 28, defense vice-minister Vilius Semeška met with the Pentagon official on acquisition and sustainment A. LaPlante to discuss the joint projects between Lithuania and the U.S. on military support for Ukraine. Expansion and acceleration of the assistance to Ukraine was one of the key topics of discussion.

Earlier Anušauskas said Lithuania cannot provide any more assistance from its stocks until it receives approval from NATO allies to comply with the obligation before the Alliance.
