The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, emphasized that the EU countries must maintain steadfast support and commitment to Ukraine.

"Strengthening Ukraine's air defense remains crucial. Recently, Germany has pledged another Patriot system and an additional €500 million. In NATO, we uphold the principle of "one for all, all for one." Putin's brutal aggression against Ukraine and his provocations at the EU’s and NATO’s external borders demand our unwavering unity," the minister added.
According to her, international law is unequivocal: states under attack do not only have the right to defend their territory, but also the duty to protect their citizens. Our military support for Ukraine is in line with these principles.
Defense Express reminds that Germany is part of the so-called "air defense coalition" (CapCo IAMD) of nations established on the sidelines of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the "Ramstein format," and has recently joined the "armored vehicle coalition" as well. Some of Germany's efforts were looking for available Patriot systems worldwide and training of Ukrainian personnel to operate them.
