​General Clark Claims That the Armed Forces Have the Initiative at the Front and Are Capable of Achieving Their Goals

Today, Ukrainian servicemen have the initiative on the front line, and the United States sees the ability of the Armed Forces to fulfill their tasks

This was said by the Supreme Commander of the NATO Combined Forces in Europe in 1997-2000, General Wesley Clark, during the Kyiv Security Forum, founded by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.

“The war will end when putin realizes that it is too risky for him to continue. But the war will also end when the Ukrainian military liberate the entire territory of Ukraine, including the Crimea,” he said.

“The situation on the battlefield is critical. We saw the brilliant defense of Kyiv, then the battles in the Donbass, and a wonderful operation in the northeast (Kharkiv region) and in the Kherson region. And we understand that it is crucial to preserve the initiative and the ability to act, to put the emphasis on strikes based on intelligence data. We in the USA comprehend that the initiative is in the hands of the Ukrainian army and it can achieve its goals,” said Wesley Clark.

The general also praised the Ukrainians in their fighting at the information front.

“It is necessary for as many people as possible to see and feel the heroic spirit of the Ukrainians who are fighting for the future system of global security. The more people know this and see this with their own eyes, the greater the pressure is exercised on putin,” emphasized Wesley Clark.

At the same time, he added: “Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrate impressive results in defending their country, which was attacked by the russian federation. By fighting for your own land, you are fighting for all of us,” the general concluded.
