On the night of May 8, 2024, russian occupiers initiated a coordinated missile attack utilizing a variety of missiles and UAVs.
In total, russia deployed 76 assets for air attacks, comprising 55 missiles and 21 UAVs:

- One Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missile launched from Tambov region, russia;
- Two Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from temporarily occupied territory of Crimea;
- Four Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the Black Sea waters;
- Forty-five Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles launched from the Tu-95MS strategic bombers, with the launch area in Saratov region, russia, and Caspian Sea waters;
- One Iskander-K cruise missile launched from Crimea;
- Two Kh-59/Kh-69 guided aviation missiles launched from Zaporizhzhia region, Ukraine;
- Twenty-one Shahed-131/136 UAVs launched from Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk region, russia.
The Ukrainian forces engaged with fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops of the Air Force, mobile fire groups and radio-electronic warfare units.
The air battle resulted in the destruction of 59 aerial targets, including:
- Thirty-three Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles;
- Four Kalibr cruise missiles;
- Two Kh-59/Kh-69 guided aviation missiles;
- Twenty Shahed-131/136 UAVs.
