Who is really behind the attack on russian Special Forces University and what are the versions

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov reported that the so-called russian Special Forces University in Gudermes, the Chechen Republic was attacked by a drone on October 29 around 6:30 a.m. local time. As a result of this strike, which hit an allegedly empty building, a fire broke out, which was extinguished and there were no casualties.

It should be noted that this "university" is a project of Kadyrov, so anyway, the attack on it means more than just a strike on a training center for the russian military.

Despite the first thought that it could have been a Ukrainian long-range drone that flew to Chechnya, this is not the only option. Anyway, Ukrainian drones can reach Chechnya, which is 850 kilometers from the frontline. Such ranges are nothing new, as Ukraine has drones capable of striking at distances of 1,500 kilometers.

However, such an attack on this training center is hardly advisable in terms of effect. In particular, there are much more interesting sites in and near Chechnya. For example, the airbase near Mozdok town in North Ossetia or it could have been the 68th GRAU arsenal near the same town.

That is why there is another and possibly more likely option: the ongoing "Battle for Wildberries". Wildberries is a huge russian marketplace, which this summer was the subject of a showdown over the divorce of the owners. Given that the Kadyrovites decided to split this business with Dagestan's criminals under the leadership of oligarch and governor Suleyman Kerimov, it quickly escalated into a real shootout in Moscow on September 18. After that, Kadyrov even announced, or threatened to announce blood revenge against Kerimov.

That is why it seems that the attack on the so-called russian Special Forces Universityin Gudermes is a continuation of this showdown. The strike could have been carried out not by Ukrainian long-range drone, but by a conventional FPV drone launched by the Dagestanis. It is also known that on October 24, unidentified persons shot at a truck of the National Guard of the russian federation near Grozny, killing one soldier.

Another thing is that Kadyrov may try to start talking again about the need to deploy a full-fledged air defense in Chechnya, as he said in July 2022.

As Defense Express reported the Kremlin had sent strategic forces troops in battle as infantry.
