Czechia has aligned with the German effort to enhance Ukraine's air defense

Notably, the nation is poised to support the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 and Gripen aircraft, according to Czech Defense Minister Jana Černohová, reports Ceske Noviny.

As per Černohová, the Czech state-owned enterprise LOM Praha possesses the capacity to assist in training Ukrainian pilots.

"The focus extends beyond supplying missile defense systems; it also involves providing aircraft and training pilots to operate them. We can offer countries training on F-16s and Gripen aircraft," remarked the Czech defense minister.

Earlier, Defense Express reported that Ukraine urges the US and its allies to accelerate F-16 pilot training. This is the latest obstacle in the prolonged effort to equip Ukraine with modern F-16 fighter jets.

Besides F-16s, Ukraine is open to acquiring other Western aircraft, including Swedish Gripen jets. Although Sweden has not yet agreed to supply these jets, Kyiv plans to start training pilots on the Gripen to prevent delays once Stockholm makes a decision.
