On December 6, the United States announced a​ new package of military aid to Ukraine worth up to $175 million

This is stated in the statement of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, published on the website of the US State Department.

" Capabilities provided in today’s package include air defense munitions, additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rockets Systems, artillery ammunition, High-speed Anti-Radiation Missiles, anti-armor missiles, small arms ammunition, demolitions munitions for obstacle clearing, equipment to protect critical national infrastructure, and spare parts, ancillary equipment, services, training, and transportation," said Blinken.

He noted that until the aggressor country, russia, ends the full-scale war and withdraws its troops from Ukraine, it is extremely important for the US to continue to lead the created coalition of more than 50 countries that strongly support Ukraine.

"Unless Congress acts to pass the President’s national security supplemental funding request, this will be one of the last security assistance packages we can provide to Ukraine. Helping Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression and secure its future advances our national security interests and contributes to global stability around the world, and we need Congress to act immediately," the statement of the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken reads.

The US Ministry of Defense detailed what will be included in the fifty-second tranche of equipment for Ukraine (from the Pentagon's stocks), in particular:

  • AIM-9M and AIM-7 missiles for air defense;
  • Additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS);
  • 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds;
  • High-speed Anti-radiation missiles (HARMs);
  • Tube-Launched, Optically-Tracked, Wire-Guided (TOW) missiles;
  • Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems;
  • More than 4 million rounds of small arms ammunition;
  • Vehicles to tow and haul equipment;
  • Demolitions munitions for obstacle clearing;
  • Equipment to protect critical national infrastructure;
  • Spare parts, maintenance, and other ancillary equipment.

The Pentagon indicated that the United States, together with approximately 50 Allies and partners, has provided Ukraine with the capabilities necessary to achieve significant military victories and successfully de-occupy more than 50% of the sovereign territory captured by the aggressor country, russia, in is full-scale invasion.

"It is critical that Congress takes action soon and passes the President's national security supplemental request to ensure we can continue our support for Ukraine," the US DoD statement reads. " Security assistance for Ukraine is a smart investment in our national security. It helps to prevent a larger war in the region and deter potential aggression elsewhere, while strengthening our defense industrial base and creating highly skilled jobs for the American people," the statement concludes

According to the Pentagon, as of December 6, "the United States committed more than $44.8 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the Biden Administration, including $44.2 billion since the beginning of Russia’s unprovoked and brutal invasion on February 24, 2022."

As Defense Express reported, Ukraine Received Another Package of Military Aid from Germany, Including Sniper Equipment. We also wrote, that Finland Delivered 20th Defense Aid Package to Ukraine, Bringing Total Assistance to 1.5 Billion Euros.
