In the last few days, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has carried out a series of successful attacks on enemy targets in the currently occupied Crimea. In the evening and night of January 6, powerful explosions were heard in the vicinity of Yevpatoria in western Crimea. Additionally, on January 4, powerful explosions were heard in Sevastopol and Yevpatoria

After a series of strikes near Sevastopol and Yevpatoria on January 4, another successful attack was carried out on the Saky airfield during the night from January 5 to 6.

This strike targeted the command post at the airfield, as reported by the Commander of the Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk on Telegram.

"Saky airfield! All targets are hit! Unfortunately, our Air Force has once again been left without yet another command post in Crimea. Once again, thanks to our pilots for excellent work!," Oleshchuk wrote.

This airfield serves as the base for the 43rd Separate Naval Assault Aviation Regiment of the Black Sea Fleet of the russian federation. The occupiers' group is equipped with Su-24 bombers and Su-30 fighters.

Note that the command post is underground. However, in the case of using Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles, this is not a problem, as these missiles were precisely designed to target such highly protected objectives.

It should be noted that this strike is already a trend of systematically targeting the command posts and control systems of the occupiers in Crimea. Because on January 4th, near Yevpatoria, the 222nd air defense communication hub of the Black Sea Fleet of the russian federation and the positions of radar stations were targeted. It is worth noting that the 3rd Radio-Technical Regiment and the 12th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment are based in the area of this city.

On the same day, a strike was delivered on an enemy military facility near Sevastopol; according to unconfirmed information, it targeted a communication point in Yuharyna Balka. Additionally, there was an official report of hits on ammunition depots near the occupied town of Pervomaiske. Prior to this, russian occupiers had blocked traffic on the Crimean Bridge.

Thus, the majority of the strikes targeted the enemy command and control system. It is noteworthy that these objects have been targeted in previous attacks.

In particular, the airfield in Saky has already been a target for several strikes, including one of the first long-range strikes by Ukraine in August 2022, which resulted in significant enemy losses.

And enemy air defense objects near Yevpatoria were the target of a successful strike by Ukraine in September 2023.

As earlier reported by Defense Express, the Ukrainian Crimean-based Atesh partisan group claimed that Ukrainian forces struck a russian air defense radar system and a communications center in Yevpatoria responsible for coordinating russian air defense operations in occupied Crimea on January 4.
