A warehouse storing fertilizers is currently on fire in the Moscow suburbs, covering an area of 2,000 square meters, Ukrinform reports.

Upon the arrival of the first firefighting and rescue teams, a full-blown blaze engulfed the entire fertilizer warehouse. The fire affected an area of 1.8 thousand square meters. Details regarding the fire’s causes and any potential casualties are currently under investigation.

According to SHOT, there are reports that the outbreak occurred following an explosion at a warehouse belonging to a local enterprise on Doninskoye highway, situated between a gas station and TEMP engineering and scientific center (which works for the Ministry of Defense, Roscosmos and Rosatom). SHOT reports that the fire has spread across an area of 2 thousand square meters.

Subsequent information revealed that the engulfed warehouse is owned by the LAMA PRO company, specializing in the sale of fertilizers, landscaping goods and equipment for nurseries. The preliminary reason for the outbreak appears to be linked to disregarding fire safety protocols during welding operations.
