The development of this turboshaft engine for helicopters started in 2017: the project was aimed at reducing dependence on foreign purchases and focusing on our own defense and industrial complex.

For the first time, the 1400 hp engine was first officially introduced in December 2020. It is currently installed on the TAI T625 Gökbey light twin-engine transport service helicopter, although it might be used on the T129 ATAK attack helicopter in the future. The rotational power of the engine shaft is 23,000 rpm, it flies up to 6,100 meters high.

This event can be included in the tally of the year of the Turkish aviation industry, since the year 2023 for Turkey will be rich in the first flights of domestic developments and other significant events.

In particular, the Kızılelma unmanned fighter vehicle has already begun active flight tests this year, the Turks are actively working on another Anka-3 drone, the Hürjet combat training aircraft, and are also breaking records for the development of the fifth-generation TF-X fighter.
