According to French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, Paris is committed to enhancing the legal and organizational framework for fostering collaboration with Kyiv. The French government, under Jean-Yves Le Dria’s guidance, aims to expand the production capabilities of military systems in Ukraine through cooperation between the two nations, as reported by Ukrinform.
During a joint briefing with the Ukrainian counterpart, Jean-Yves Le Drian emphasized their determination to bolster Ukraine’s capacity in manufacturing weapon systems domestically, expressing readiness to provide assistance in this endeavor. The French minister reiterated their dedication to refining the legal and organizational structures to facilitate more efficient cooperation with Kyiv.

Furthermore, Jean-Yves Le Drian highlighted France’s intention to leverage its political and diplomatic influence at the upcoming summit of the European Council to secure a €50 billion aid package for Ukraine. With the summit scheduled for February 1, he stressed the importance of preserving European unity and pledged to use France’s political weight to ensure the allocation of the earmarked funds.
Jean-Yves Le Drian specified that the €50 billion aid would be allocated to support various sectors of the Ukrainian budget, including education, healthcare, justice and other socio-economic needs. Additionally, these funds would contribute to Ukraine’s energy transition and the modernization of its transport infrastructure.
