Agreement between the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and German company Diehl Defence paves the way for large industrial projects

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the German company Diehl Defence, which produces IRIS-T systems and is "an important part of Ukraine's air defense shield."

According to the minister, the signed agreement paves the way for large industrial projects that will strengthen the capabilities of Ukrainian air defense.

In addition, the memorandum provides for a threefold increase in the supply of missiles and air defense systems, Umerov noted.

"Thank you Diehl Defence for your trust and willingness to cooperate. It is important that the world's leading defense companies are taking a step towards Ukraine. The free world is on our side, and together we are opening up new opportunities to strengthen defense. We continue to develop the Ukrainian defense industry and integrate it into the European ecosystem," the Minister of Defense of Ukraine noted.

IRIS-T is a medium-range anti-aircraft missile system developed by Diehl Defence in 2014 and designed to destroy cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as aircraft, helicopters and drones.
