The 2-3 day "delay" of the russians helped to increase the "safety margin" of Ukraine's energy system, and this further distanced the Kremlin from its goal

The Drive shared the aftermath images of the recent Engels Airfield aerial strike. In this picture, there are no traces of strikes, which took place on December 27 and December 29. But there are other details worth noting in this picture.

Firstly, in this photo at least one Tu-160 and at least two Tu-95MS can be seen covered in snow. There is no snow-clearing equipment near the Tu-95MS, near the Tu-160 they were just clearing the site, other snow-clearing machines were clearing the runway for the future departure of strategic bombers.

Russians drew conclusions from their previous mistakes, and built a kind of "bulkheads" in the parking lot between the planes. Which, in turn, suggests that during the December 5 attack on Engels, more than one Tu-95MS was damaged: if the first one was damaged by fire, then the others could have been hit by debris from the explosion of the drone's warheads.

The fact that russians managed to turn at least three strategic bombers heavily covered in snow may indicate that the equipment of the Engels Airfield was used all this time mainly to clean up the traces of the strike that took place on December 27, 2022.

Even if the satellite images do not yet confirm the information about the possible damage of 5 strategic bombers and disposal of 17 rockets after the attack on December 27, the attack on the airfield still achieved its goal. If russians needed 11 days to prepare for the previous missile attack on Ukraine, then it took 13 days to prepare for the attack on December 29. As it can be seen, the successful hit increased the required interval by at least 2 days, and this made it possible to gain time to increase the "safety margin" of Ukraine’s energy system: this time there were no emergency shutdowns on a national scale.

Calculations based on the remaining cruise missiles and the interval for preparing for a new attack actually have their own practical meaning: they give grounds for confidence that Ukraine will withstand the Kremlin's missile terror.
