As a result the Azerbaijani side got wounded and killed sldiers. In response, "measures were taken" when "the Armenian side suffered significant losses" afterwards.
The Ministry of Defense of Armenia reports that around 16:00 local time, the Azerbaijani side opened fire on soldiers who were carrying out engineering work. And also notes that it suffered loss in dead and wounded. And an hour and a half after the shelling, Azerbaijan applied mortars, while the Armenian side "applies all necessary measures."
Defense Express notes that the place of fighting is the territory of Armenia itself. And when it comes to any military clash between Armenia and Azerbaijan, it is quite possible that all this means the beginning of a new war.
In particular, before the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War that began on September 27, 2020, military clashes took place between Armenia and Azerbaijan on July 12-16, 170 km from the future theater of hostilities on the border of the countries in the north.
