This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Oleksandr Syrskyi, in a Telegram update on Monday, March 31.

“Thanks to effective command decisions as well as the resilience of our soldiers, this task has been partially achieved - especially in the Pokrovsk direction. In the Donetsk operational zone, the enemy has concentrated its main offensive efforts but is largely stuck,” General Syrskyi wrote.
He emphasized, that Ukrainian forces are using active defense tactics where it is possible. They are advancing in some sectors improving their tactical positions.
Oleksandr Syrskyi also summarized the impact of Ukrainian firepower on enemy forces in March.
“Since the beginning of March, artillery units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine have carried out around 100,000 fire missions. UAV operators have completed over 81,700 combat and special missions, including 158 Deep Strike engagements,” he noted.

In addition, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said the basic general military training course has been optimized, and an adaptive period for new recruits has been introduced.
“This (the optimization of general military training course, - ed.) is already delivering results – this month we recorded fewer losses compared to previous periods. However, there’s still work to be done,” General Syrskyi concluded.
