Ukraine's Vyriy Industries has developed a new tactical reconnaissance UAV called SLAVIC, which has undergone battlefield testing.
The Ukrainian-made drone is designed for tactical reconnaissance missions and is intended as an alternative to Chinese and Western commercial platforms, including DJI's Mavic-series drones, which are widely used for aerial reconnaissance.

One of the SLAVIC drone's key characteristics is its endurance. According to the developers, the UAV can remain airborne for up to 1.5 hours, allowing operators to conduct reconnaissance missions while staying farther from the line of contact.
The increased flight time could provide pilots with greater flexibility during missions, particularly when monitoring areas at a distance from their own positions. The platform is intended to give Ukrainian units another domestically produced option for tactical aerial reconnaissance.
Vyriy is already working on further improvements to the system. The company plans to equip the UAV with a thermal imaging camera, which would expand its reconnaissance capabilities, particularly under low-light conditions.
The developers also plan to replace the drone's current Chinese main camera with an imaging system developed in Ukraine. This would further increase the share of domestically developed components in the platform.
Vyriy is additionally preparing larger versions of the UAV. The planned modifications suggest that the company intends to expand SLAVIC platform beyond its current tactical reconnaissance configuration.
