Ukrainian skies remain a contested battlefield, where russian reconnaissance and strike drones pose constant threats to both military personnel and civilians. To counter this danger, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine relies on specialized units equipped with advanced interception systems. One such formation, the Kryla unit, has demonstrated remarkable efficiency in recent operations.

A new video released by the Defense Intelligence highlights the successful combat work of the Kryla specialists, who are tasked with detecting and destroying hostile unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to the Defense Intelligence report, the unit managed to eliminate a significant number of russian UAVs over the course of recent missions. The tally includes 15 Supercam S-350 reconnaissance drones, 11 Molniya loitering munitions, 3 Zala Z-16s, one Zala Kub, one Orlan-30, and 4 Lancet kamikaze drones. Each of these systems, if left unchecked, could have caused serious damage on the battlefield.

The interception of such drones underscores the increasing role of counter-UAV capabilities in modern warfare. russian forces have heavily relied on unmanned systems to compensate for losses in manned aviation, making them a constant presence over Ukrainian territory. Neutralizing them not only protects frontline units but also disrupts enemy intelligence gathering and strike capabilities.

As Defense Express previously reported, the Ukrainian Navy's 40th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade has showed its innovative Barracuda unmanned surface vessel, presenting footage of the system in action. The video, released on September 8 via the Brigade's official Telegram channel, highlights the growing role of autonomous technologies in Ukraine's defense against russian aggression.

According to the Brigade, the Barracuda naval drone integrates state-of-the-art technologies, allowing it to perform missions in conditions where human involvement would be nearly impossible. The system is designed to take on highly dangerous tasks while minimizing risks to personnel, giving Ukrainian forces a new advantage at sea.
