On the night of August 7–8, a series of explosions rocked the russian city of Syzran in the Samara region. Shortly afterward, reports emerged of a fire at the Syzran oil refinery. A fire was also reported at the Ilsky oil refinery

Videos and photos have appeared online showing a massive fire at the Syzran oil refinery. The fire at the facility broke out around 2 a.m. As of this morning, the fire was still burning.

There is currently no information about possible casualties. Local residents report that the attack took place specifically in the area of the atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit and the oil storage tanks.

The governor of russia's Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, confirmed a drone attack on one of the region's industrial facilities. According to him, the facility was struck overnight, and emergency services are currently working at the site where the drones crashed to deal with the aftermath. russian authorities are currently verifying information regarding possible casualties.

The Syzran oil refinery is one of the major enterprises in russia's oil industry and is part of PJSC Rosneft. The refinery, located in the Samara region, has a design capacity of approximately 8.9 million metric tons of crude oil per year.

The company specializes in refining crude oil supplied from fields in Western Siberia and the Samara region. The refinery produces various types of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and other components needed for the fuel market.

The refinery is a key part of the Samara region's oil refining infrastructure and processes significant volumes of russian crude oil.

Reports have also emerged of an attack on the Ilsky oil refinery in russia's Krasnodar Krai. A fire broke out at the site after drone debris fell on the refinery grounds.

The Ilsky oil refinery is one of the largest enterprises in the oil industry in southern russia. Its design capacity is up to 6.6 million metric tons of crude oil per year.

It produces gasoline, diesel fuel, and other petroleum products. These products are used to support russian military logistics and supply fuel and lubricants to units of the russian army.
