Ukrainian drone operators have struck russian Buk-M1 air defense system on the Zaporizhzhia axis, targeting one of the system's self-propelled launchers, according to the 1st Regiment.
The regiment released footage showing a coordinated strike involving two different types of attack drones against russian air defense vehicle.

The video shows the drones engaging the self-propelled launcher, which forms one of the key components of the Buk-M1 system. The launcher is responsible for carrying and launching the system's surface-to-air missiles.
Buk-M1 launcher carries four surface-to-air missiles and is designed to operate as part of a medium-range air defense system. The system was developed to engage a range of aerial targets, including aircraft, helicopters and cruise missiles.
The loss of such a launcher can reduce the capabilities of russian Buk-M1 battery in the area, although the destruction of a single vehicle does not necessarily mean the entire air defense system has been eliminated.
For Ukrainian forces, russian air defense systems are particularly important targets because they can restrict the operation of drones and other aircraft. Removing individual air defense assets can therefore create additional opportunities for Ukrainian unmanned systems to operate in contested areas.
The 1st Regiment described the strike as part of its efforts to weaken russian air defenses, commenting, "We are thinning out enemy air defenses. More to come".
