Ukrainian drones have struck russian Nebo-U radar station deployed at the Millerovo military airfield in russia's Rostov region. The strike was carried out by the long-range strike company of Ukraine's 429th Brigade.
The target was russian Nebo-U long-range radar system, which Ukrainian brigade estimates to be worth approximately $100 million. The system is designed to provide long-range detection and tracking of airborne targets, making it an important component of russia's air defense and surveillance infrastructure.

The Millerovo airfield is located approximately 170 kilometers from the front line. Despite being deep behind the front line, the facility plays an important role in russia's ongoing aerial campaign against Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian military, russian forces use the airfield to launch Shahed-type attack drones as well as other strike and decoy unmanned aerial vehicles. From Millerovo, these systems are reportedly employed against targets in Ukraine's eastern, central and northern regions.
The destruction or damage of the Nebo-U system therefore affects not only russia's ability to monitor the airspace around the airfield but also its broader military infrastructure supporting drone operations. Long-range radars can provide situational awareness and help detect aircraft, drones and other airborne threats over considerable distances.
