The 16th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein) took place. For the first time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was present offline at the Ramstein meeting.
“This is an important signal to our partners before winter. We need more air defense systems, more heavy weaponry and ammunition. We must defend our cities and infrastructure,” Rustem Umerov said at the conclusion of the meeting.

During the Ramstein-16 meeting, Ukraine proposed the creation of a Coalition for the Development of the Defense Industry within the framework of the Coalitions.
“Our priority for this and the next year is to attract international defense companies and corporations to establish production in Ukraine. This is a matter of our national security – ensuring the armament of the Armed Forces, technological development and economic security,” the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov emphasized.
There are several Coalition capabilities that are already showing results, and with each Ramstein, more and more countries are joining and contributing to each of the Coalitions:
- Tank Coalition;
- CV-90 Coalition;
- IT Coalition;
- Demining Coalition;
- F16 Coalition;
- Future Force Coalition.
