It is worth noting that the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service is a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine as well as that Oleksandr Lytvynenko was Deputy Secretary of the NSDC from 2014 to 2019.

The dismissal of Oleksii Danilov may be considered rather unexpected occasion because the possible replacement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had been discussed for quite some time by both Ukrainian and Western societies before Oleksandr Syrskii was appointed on February 8 this year.

In addition, President of Ukraine noted that Oleksii Danilov will be transferred to another area of activity and he will announce it later.
