In the morning of January 23, 2024, Ukraine experienced a coordinated missile strike from russia, deploying a mix of cruise, ballistic, aviation and air defense guided missiles.
A total of 41 missiles were recorded, predominantly featuring missiles following a ballistic trajectory:

- 4 S-300/S-400 air defense guided missiles from the Belgorod region targeted Kharkiv region;
- 15 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles were launched from six strategic Tu-95MS bombers stationed in Engels, russia;
- 8 Kh-22 missiles were deployed from Tu-22M3 bombers in the Bryansk and Oryol regions, targeting Kharkiv and Sumy regions;
- 12 Iskander-M ballistic missiles were fired from launch sites in the Belgorod and Voronezh regions;
- 3 Kh-59 guided aviation missiles were launched from two Su-34 aircraft stationed in Belgorod region, russia.
As a result of collaborative efforts by the Air Force and the Air Defense Forces, the following targets were successfully neutralized:
- 15 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles;
- 5 Iskander-M ballistic missiles;
- 1 Kh-59 guided aviation missile.
