According to the brigade, its aerial reconnaissance units had been tracking the systems for several months. During this period, operators monitored their movements and gathered the intelligence required to identify the targets and determine the right moment for a strike.

Once the targets were finally confirmed, the collected information was passed to the 45th Brigade for the engagement. Ukrainian artillery crews subsequently struck both russian air defense systems.

The strikes resulted in the destruction of two russian Buk air defense systems.
