The russian media claim that Kyrylo Budanov confessed that Ukraine is engaging in nuclear blackmail against Europe. In reality, the Chief of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, never made such statements, Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security reports.
Russian media state that the head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine confirmed that “Ukraine is bombing the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant” and “wants to create a nuclear Armageddon” to blackmail the entire world.

In an interview with the NV in October, Kyrylo Budanov and his colleagues revealed details of some special operations. For example, they discussed the attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to reclaim the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, as reported by the journalists at StopFake.
Indeed, Ukrainian military personnel attempted to land on the left bank of the Dnipro River near Enerhodar to establish a foothold for the liberation of the city and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. These operations were unsuccessful but thwarted russia’s plans to connect the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant to its energy grid.
There were no “confessions” regarding Ukraine allegedly bombing the power plant made by intelligence representatives.
Furthermore, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempts to push out occupiers are not a crime – Ukraine is using its legitimate right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. On the other hand, russia consistently creates crisis situations at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, each of which could potentially escalate into a major disaster.
