"Kurakhove constitutes a critical segment of the frontline. Its occupation would enable russian forces to consolidate their positions in the region and create conditions for further advances westward," according to the UK Defense Intelligence.
Recent intelligence reports indicate that russian advances in the last several weeks have concentrated on three key areas: Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Velyka Novosilka. These locations are in the Donetsk region and play interconnected roles in the conflict dynamics.

British intelligence revealed that russian troops are progressively moving toward Pokrovsk, having gained control of the town of Selydove and widening their operational front. The russian forces are now approximately 6–7 kilometers from Pokrovsk.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces achieved a limited counteroffensive near Velyka Novosilka, retaking the village of Novyi Komar from russian control. Despite this, russian forces persist in their efforts to sever supply routes on Velyka Novosilka’s northern outskirts, aiming to encircle the area. russian troops are also advancing from the south, recently capturing the village of Blahodatne.
