For almost two years, experts from the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have been using the ICEYE satellite to detect enemy targets and protect the state.
Reconnaissance from Earth’s orbit is crucial, as it allows data collection from both temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and other parts of the world where russia’s military forces and assets are located.

During the use of the satellite and access to the ICEYE satellite constellation, Ukrainian experts have taken a total of 4,173 images of enemy targets, including:
- 370 airfields;
- 238 air defense and electronic warfare positions;
- 153 oil depots and fuel storage facilities;
- 147 missile, aviation weaponry and ammunition depots;
- 17 naval bases.
The ICEYE satellite also captures permanent deployment points of enemy forces, training grounds, military towns and mobilization centers, allowing Ukraine to track the dynamics of russia’s troop movements and reveal their military intentions to thwart them.
The satellite enables monitoring of the aggressor’s military-industrial complex and logistics network, including the illegal bridge between russia and temporarily occupied Crimea.
A significant advantage of the ICEYE satellite is its ability to clearly detect concentrations of well-camouflaged mechanized enemy units in foliage.
About 38% of all data obtained via the ICEYE satellite has been used for the direct preparation of enemy fire damage, resulting in billions of dollars in losses for russia, and the cost of its aggression will continue to rise.
