Kyrylo Budanov details russia’s possible plan for Sumy, similar to Kharkiv, aimed at creating panic and forcing Ukrainian withdrawal

The head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, revealed that russian troops have been strategizing an operation in Sumy region similar to the ongoing one in Kharkiv.

He mentioned that the russians had planned this operation from the start, maintaining small groups near the Sudzha border. However, they haven’t been able to initiate active actions yet due to the current situation.

Kyrylo Budanov also mentioned that there’s a trend towards stabilizing the situation in Kharkiv region. He pointed out that the primary objective of this operation is to sow chaos and panic, supplementing these efforts with ground actions. The ultimate aim is to push Ukrainian groups to retreat eastward, leading to internal destabilization.
