Sweden and Denmark have signed contracts with the Swedish military vehicle manufacturer BAE Systems Hägglunds for the purchase of 205 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, 40 of which are designated for Ukraine

According to a press release on the Swedish government’s website, Sweden's Minister of Defense, Paul Jonson, emphasized that "These investments will provide more Swedish combat vehicles, which will make Europe, and especially Ukraine, safer."

Of the 205 vehicles, 115 will be delivered to Denmark, and 50 will be acquired for Sweden to replace vehicles previously sent to Ukraine. The two countries' governments will jointly finance the purchase of 40 additional CV90 IFVs for Ukraine.

The total value of the deal with BAE Systems Hägglunds is 25 billion Swedish kronor (over $2.2 billion USD).

The CV9035 MkIIIC armored vehicles are equipped with advanced turrets that provide enhanced situational awareness for the crew and improve mobility, protection, and effectiveness against enemy targets.

Additionally, Sweden has previously sent Ukraine 50 CV90 vehicles as part of its tenth aid package, and the new order will deliver 40 additional vehicles for Ukraine, funded under the 15th aid package.
