On December 25, during a massive russian missile strike on Ukraine, the Kh-101 cruise missile fell in Chernivtsi region. The missile, which did not detonate, reportedly violated the airspace of Romania and Moldova before entering Ukraine. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine confirmed the discovery of the missile’s debris in a field, with its warhead undetonated.
The State Emergency Service teams promptly secured the site, removing the remnants of the missile and inspecting the area for safety. Their efforts were carried out in coordination with other specialized agencies. Photographs from the scene revealed that the missile remained relatively intact upon impact.

Despite reports from Ukrainian authorities that the missile crossed Romanian and Moldovan airspace, Romanian Ministry of Defense denied any violations. Ministry spokesperson Constantin Spinu stated that their air surveillance systems detected no breaches but noted that investigations are ongoing.
