russians admitted that the BTR-22, essentially an upgraded BTR-82A, was outdated by at least 20 years and not a new development

The russian BTR-22 armored personnel carrier is taking part in the russian-Belarusian Zapad 2025 military exercises. The armored vehicle was seen in Grodno, near the Gozhsky training ground, just a few dozen kilometers from the Polish border.

The location of the russian BTR-22 was identified by the Telegram channel called Military Journal. It was spotted on Kirova Street. It can be assumed that russia deliberately leaked photos of the BTR-22 online as part of a campaign to demonstrate its strength to Poland. This campaign also involves drone flights into Polish territory and the presence of two Iskander launchers in Kaliningrad Oblast.

It should be noted that the appearance of the BTR-22 so close to Poland is not particularly unusual, but it is still notable since the vehicle was first presented only two years ago at the Armiya-2023 forum.
