Fighters of the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine displayed ingenuity in a unique battle near Pokrovsk. They lured a nine-member russian assault group into a trap by vacating trenches dug too deep for effective combat

A video of the combat operation was published on the Telegram channel on December 22.

It was later revealed that the trenches, dug with an excavator to a depth of two meters, were unsuitable for effective combat. Unaware of this, the russians eagerly entered the position, only to find themselves trapped.

Ukrainian forces targeted the enemy with grenade launchers and drones, while the soldiers also opened fire. In the end, only one russian managed to escape, while the remaining eight were eliminated.
