In Mariupol, Russian forces have launched a fresh offensive via the humanitarian corridors meant to provide a safe passage for civilians fleeing the besieged city

In Mariupol, the invading Russian forces have committed another war crime, for which the political-military political leadership and servicemen of Russia’s regular army will be held accountable.

To evacuate women and children from Mariupol, the Ukrainian military have cleared the corridor of mines and removed engineering barriers. But the invaders had not let children, women, and the elderly out the city as they launched a shelling attack targeted at the humanitarian corridor.

"These actions by Russian inhumans are nothing but genocide of the people of Ukraine," the [Ukrainian] Joint Forces Command has said in a statement on Facebook.

In addition to bombardments and shelling attacks, the enemy has cut off the city from food, water, electricity, medicine and almost all other essential supplies.

"In Mariupol, for the first time in decades, for the first time, probably since the Nazi invasion, a child died of dehydration," said President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

An investigation into Russia's war crimes in Ukraine has already begun in The Hague.

At the same time, international humanitarian organizations could help provide the humanitarian corridors but continue to stay out.

Moreover, according to the President of Ukraine, the International Committee of the Red Cross has even banned the use of its symbols.

"You know, I was told that the Red Cross, the International Red Cross, forbids us to use the Red Cross symbols on our vehicles. They are supposed to carry out humanitarian missions. The Red Cross is doing this as if [the vehicles] were their property," Zelensky said.

Nevertheless, Ukraine has been doing what it can to enable the evacuation.

"We have sent convoys of humanitarian aid to Mariupol. Everything is needed there. We have sent vehicles to save the people. Drivers understand everything. They are heroes, brave people. They understand Russian troops can shoot them. Shoot these vehicles on the way, as they’ve already done when they were killing people who were fleeing to safety from the war zone," Zelensky said.
