This year, Latvia will invest €20 million in a drone coalition for Ukraine and a matching amount in enhancing its own drone capabilities. The initiative aims to advance the integration of drone technology within the Latvian military, LSM reports.
The €20 million allocation encompasses the creation of drone infrastructure and their procurement, primarily from Latvian companies. Latvia plans to send one thousand drones to Ukraine as part of this effort.

Currently, drone testing in Latvia takes place at the Ādaži training ground. However, upon the completion of the Selonia training ground in 2026, the most active drone control training will shift to that location.
