The drones used to attack the Kresty air base in Pskov were launched from the territory of russia. Chief of the Defense Intelligence of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov exclusively informed The War Zone about this.
“We are operating from the territory of russia,” he briefly stated without specifying the number or type of combat drones used.

Additionally, the head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine declined to confirm who exactly carried out the attack, whether it was the personnel of the Defense Intelligence or Ukrainian partisans supervised by the Ukrainian special service.
At the same time, Kyrylo Budanov confirmed that the attack resulted in the damage of four russian Il-76 military transport planes.

“Two were destroyed and two sustained serious damage,” the Chief of the Defense Intelligence reported.
According to his words, these planes were specifically targeted because the aggressor state was using them to transport military cargo and personnel of the russian airborne forces. Kyrylo Budanov also revealed some details of the strike, indicating that fuel tanks and an important part of the wing’s spar located in the upper part of the IL-76 aircraft were intentionally targeted.
