This is the first time an Iranian official has confirmed the purchase of Su-35 jets.
According to Reuters, Ali Shadmani, a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated that Iran continues to strengthen its military capabilities through acquisitions. However, he did not specify the number of jets purchased or whether they had already been delivered.

"Whenever necessary, we make military purchases to strengthen our air, land, and naval forces. ... The production of military equipment has also accelerated," Shadmani said.
Iran’s air force currently operates a limited number of strike aircraft, including russian jets and aging U.S.-made models acquired before the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
