On Thursday, August 15, the Bundeswehr published an interview with German Major General Christian Freuding on its YouTube channel. The main topic of the interview was Ukraine, and especially the offensive of its Defense Forces in Kursk Oblast. At the same time, one of the issues discussed during the conversation was military aid from Germany.
It should be noted that Germany will continue to play a significant role in strengthening Ukraine's air defense. The transfer of four IRIS-T SAM systems by the end of 2024 was announced. Two of them are medium-range (SLM) version and two are short-range (SLS) systems. An unspecified number of missiles for these systems will also be transferred. In addition, the Ukrainian air defense will be reinforced with 10 more Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns.
