Ukrainian fact-checkers unveiled the truth behind viral images and videos showing the explosions at American military bases

On October 23, 2023, reports started circulating regarding explosions at several American military bases in the Middle East. The explosive imagery quickly made its way onto platforms such as X and various Telegram channels.

However, a deeper investigation reveals a different story. Contrary to the sensational claims, these photos and videos are not current. They actually depict explosions in Syria and Iraq in in 2019-2021. It turns out that these materials were initially posted online by members of the Hezbollah, Lebanon-based militant group.
